Our story begins with my mother – an immigrant, the eldest of 42 siblings. With no roadmap but endless resolve, she built a life of meaning, sacrifice, and strength. Her hands worked tirelessly to lay the foundation for everything our family has today.

She showed me that a home isn’t just built – it’s earned. Her courage and craftsmanship still guide every project we take on, reminding us what real dedication looks like.

In 1987, Maria Kizenga launched Colin’s Tradework with a simple mission: build with integrity, treat every home like it’s our own, and never cut corners. From humble beginnings as a two-man crew tackling home repairs, we’ve grown into one of Connecticut’s most trusted names in residential construction. For over three decades, our team has delivered quality craftsmanship across thousands of homes, driven by family values and hands-on leadership. The tools have evolved, but our commitment to honest work has never changed.

The 1990s and Early 2000s

Maria expanded her team and services, taking on larger remodeling projects and growing a reputation for reliability. Word-of-mouth referrals fueled our early momentum as we invested in better equipment and stronger supplier relationships.

The 2010s

We broadened our service areas and added new specialties, including full-scale renovations and outdoor builds. Our team became known for exceeding expectations and adapting to custom project needs with precision.
